sketchbook 03/10/10

I ventured down to the St. Lawrence Market and three separate people said sorry when I asked them if I could sketch them. What was really funny was the second lady. When I asked her she immediately put her hand to her hair and started preening it self consciously. Hilarious! So I was left with sketching people from the back.

It's like there's two styles on the same page - one with economy of line and the other with modeling and form. Both wonderful - and whoa - it's the same artist! Great.

Hmmm. I never ask - (guess we ain't so polite in Miami). I sit at a strategic location, maybe at an angle - 3/4 views are the best anyway - and hope they don't notice. And if I knew that they knew what I was doing, I don't know what I'd do! Probably couldn't do it!

lol! Dan-- I did that before but now I like to get up close and personal with my subjects. It'd be slightly conspicuous if I kept on staring at a person who was sitting right next to me without asking. ;-)
